Back to the animals.  This fella has a lot of attitude, I think.  Image is (c) patricia l hagen

Watery Landscape, 8”x10”, acrylic on canvas board. I hope this gets the feeling, rather than the exact look, of our northwoodsy terrain.  image is (c) patricia l hagen

Two crows.  We always have crows in our yard (along with rabbits, deer, squirrels, chipmunks, woodpeckers, and an occasional bear and fox). I like the crows. They are sociable and wicked smart and look out for each other. Image is 8”x10” and (c) patricia l hagen

A little coyote. They’re so adorable. While they’re often considered pests, a number of the farmers around here say they have a lot more trouble with neighbors’ dogs bothering their cattle and sheep than with coyotes. 8”x10”, acrylic on canvas board. Image is (c) patricia l hagen

A little grey squirrel. I like the way its tail almost makes a halo, like a saint, though they certainly don’t behave like saints in our yard.  Acrylic on canvas board, 8”x10”. image is (c) patricia l hagen

Fawn, all dappled in the woods. If I were painting animals in our yard according to how many there are, I’d have to paint about 10 deer for every other animal. They are pretty, but I sure wish they’d eat more buckthorn and fewer flowers. Image is (c) patricia l hagen

We see lots of these downy woodpeckers on our birch trees.  We leave the dead ones up as long as we can to make the woodpeckers happy.  Acrylic on canvas board, 8”x10”. image is (c) patricia l hagen

A happy morning still life: tulips and coffee. It is on watercolor board, which I’m just starting to explore. Image is (c) patricialhagen
